Get ready Norfolk, Wasserhund Brewing Company is coming to town and plans to bed-down at the former District Pizza location on Granby Street in the Railroad District.

“If everything works in our favor, Wasserhund will open in autumn,” shared Aaron Holley, co-founder and production lead of the brewery. “The concept will be a sour house, but have the same menu as both Virginia Beach and Chesapeake locations.  We are working to have it be retro themed, but with a Wasserhund flare.  Christine and I are excited about the project.”

Wasserhund specializes in German-style beers and has also made a name for itself as a destination for hand-crafted pizzas. The transition into the space — their third location — will be relatively easy given a full kitchen with a pizza oven, bar with taps, tables and chairs are already in place.

Wasserhund NFK will be within close proximity to Rip Rap Brewing and Maker’s Craft Brewery, creating a cluster of breweries for enthusiasts to patronize in an afternoon.
